My thougth:

This is the second book of Hannibal Lecter series. I haven’t read the first book, so i don’t know what exactly it tells about. But the story of this book is about the abduction by Buffalo Bill. He kidnapped women, always big – white women and then he peels the skin of his victim…

Clarice Starling, a student of FBI’s academy (from what i got at the beginning of the story), was instructed by Jack Crawford to interogate Hannibal Lecter. He wants Starling make Lecter tells about his murder. Their first conversation inisiate the case of Buffalo Bill.

At the first time I thought the main problem of the book is just Lecter. But as I turned the pages, the main problem is about Buffalo Bill.  In this book Buffalo Bill abducted Catherin Baker Martin, she’s the fifth or maybe the sixth (i forget) victim. From Hannibal Lecter clues, she tracks him.

But, when she examines Catherine’s apartment, she was catched by her mother, Senator Martin. Then she  freed Clarice from her job. Besides, Hannibal Lecter escaped and has killed 4 people, again… What does Clarice do then? There’s no more clue from Lecter. And what about Catherine? Her ‘peeling day’ is approaching. Time is ticking…

Thomas Harris  ‘smoothly’ let his writings flow. I got confuse when it tells about a new thing, but in fact it was indirectly mentioned before by Lecter. Creepy, weird, sadistic, but genius…. that’s Hannibal Lecter
