When it comes to relationships, Remy doesn’t mess around. After all, she’s learned all there is to know from her mother, who’s currently working on husband number five. But there’s something about Dexter that seems to defy all of Remy’s rules. He certainly doesn’t seem like Mr. Right. For some reason, however, Remy just can’t seem to shake him. Could it be that Remy’s starting to understand what those love songs are all about? (Goodreads)

My thoughts:

Actually i wrote the review on my Goodreada account a llloonngggg time ago. But I’ve just copied it onto this xD

I’d started to read this book since March 2014 but I’ve just ended it the next month. And to be honest, beside i’ve been busy with my homeworks and research paper, i didn’t really get into the story. I prefer Sarah’s previous book, Just Listen. It’s more inspiring to me.

This is the story of Remy Starr, the girl who always make – and – then – break up. What we call this kind of person? Playgirl? I think no. She just doesn’t believe in love because she’d been witnessed her mother’s marriages.

Since she’d been with Dexter, there are parts of her changing little by little. She didn’t realize it when her friends did. And she afraid of falling trully in love with him. So, just that. She broke up again, then found a new guy, again. But, would she do that along the time? Until the rest of her life?

Even though I didn’t really enjoy this book, i got an inspiring quote from the book. It answered my problem a bit. It convinced me to do what i thought i could do. It told me to take the chance and be brave to face the risks. It taught me to try to do great things which i thought it’s impossible for me to make it.

“if anything, it makes you weaker. Because you’re doing it out of fear. Fear of taking that chance. Of letting go and giving into it, and tht’s what make us what we were. Risks. That is living. Being too scared to even try it – that’s just a waste. I can say I made a lot of mistakes, but I don’t regret things. Because at least I didn’t spend a life standing outside, wondering what living would be like.”
